Young Refugee Project Coordinator Location: Camden Hours: 14 per week Contract type: 12 Months Fixed Term Salary: £26,488 Per Annum (Pro-Rata) Could you coordinate the activities of a youth project which provides support to asylum seekers and refugee young people aged 15-21? We have an exciting new opportunity for a Young Refugee Project Coordinator to join our Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links (RSRFL) team. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering the London Refugee project for unaccompanied young refugees and asylum seekers and will undertake a range of duties designed to develop, maintain and promote the service. You will engage external workshop facilitators, manage volunteers, and provide follow-up support for service users. This role would suit a creative person who enjoys formulating new ideas based on feedback from group members. How you’ll make a difference The young refugee project offers a safe space for young vulnerable asylum seeker and refugee, who many have entered the country without a parent or guardian, to develop their life skills, increase their social networks, reduce isolation, and improve their English language. You will organise and facilitate a mixture of youth work activities and life skills provision workshops. This will be a rewarding role; you’ll be making a tangible difference to the people you support and helping us to achieve our mission of supporting people in crisis. To be a successful Young Refugee Project Coordinator you will have the following: Experience of working with young people with complex needs Well developed presentation and facilitation skills and would be confident planning and delivering sessions and social activities You're a team player and a great communicator; you're able to work as part of a team, communicate effectively in group settings and could adapt your communication style to your audience Able to support, manage and develop volunteers (previous experience of managing volunteers would be an advantage) You're organised; you have great time management skills and can plan, prioritise and monitor your own and others’ workload Understanding of issues relating to young asylum seekers and refugees Closing date for applications is 23:59 on Tuesday 4th February2025.
