I'm currently working with a well known plastics manufacturer on the outskirts of Belfast. They are on the lookout for Electrical Maintenance Engineers.
Main tasks and duties
1. Report to and adhere to instructions from Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Technicians.
2. Through good housekeeping procedures ensure that a safe and clean working environment is kept at all times.
3. Ensure that the Health & Safety Policy of the company is operated to ensure compliance with statutory regulations as they change from time to time.
4. Ensure all tasks undertaken are completed in accordance with the appropriate and necessary regulations e.g. IEE, Electricity at Work Regulations, HASAW Regulations and PUWER Regulations.
5. Managing electrical repairs and breakdowns whilst avoiding downtime and ensuring minimal disruption.
6. Fault finding and continuous improvement site wide focusing on critical plant and addressing the root cause of failures.
7. Initiating and modifying electrical designs; conducting diagnosis, repairing and testing of malfunctioning equipment.
8. Electrical installation of new plant and machinery.
9. Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.
10. Use of predictive maintenance techniques to support a LEAN manufacturing philosophy.
Required criteria
1. Recognised apprenticeship as an electrical or mechatronic technician, ideally to HNC or equivalent level.
2. Have a minimum of 3 years’ post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing background.
3. Have experience in fault diagnosis in electrical systems and equipment.
4. Have experience with motor control systems, process temperature controls, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC/ PC control systems.
5. Ideally have experience of equipment installation.
