An exciting opportunity for someone with senior practice management experience to join our practice management team in a full-time capacity. Candidates with full Practice Management experience and those with experience of being part of a senior management team will be considered. Experience in financial management and planning would be highly valued. The Cedars Surgery has 6 partners and provides primary care services to approximately 11,000 patients. Based out of purpose-built premises right on Deal seafront (next to the crazy golf if you know Deal). We sit directly on the seafront, in a town regularly making the tops of lists for places to live, along with day trips to France, fast train into London, and a thriving food scene.
The surgery is well established and respected with excellent staff retention. Job Purpose: Depending on their experience the Post holder will be responsible for either leading or supporting the leadership, management, and administration of the practice. The role requires a strategic leader who can ensure efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services, financial stability, regulatory compliance, and excellent patient care. This position is pivotal in driving the practice's success and fostering a positive working environment for all staff.
Key Responsibilities (with the assistance of the management team & partners):
1. Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the practice. Implement and maintain efficient administrative systems and processes. Ensure the smooth running of all practice activities, including patient appointments, record keeping, and information systems.
2. Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff. Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment. Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
3. Financial Oversight: Manage the practice's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring cost-effective operations. Prepare financial reports for the partners and manage payroll.
4. Compliance and Governance: Ensure the practice complies with all relevant legislation, healthcare regulations, and standards. Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures. Oversee health and safety protocols and ensure the practice is CQC compliant.
5. Patient Experience: Promote a patient-centered approach, ensuring high standards of patient care and service. Address patient complaints and feedback promptly and effectively. Implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and experience.
6. Strategic Development: Contribute to the strategic development, implementation, and integration of services. Identify opportunities for service improvement and business development. Stay abreast of changes in the healthcare industry and ensure the practice adapts accordingly.
7. IT and Information Management: Oversee the practice's IT systems and ensure data security and patient confidentiality. Manage the use of practice management software and electronic patient records.
8. Facilities Management: Ensure the practice's facilities are well-maintained and provide a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in Practice Management.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
3. Financial management experience, including budgeting and financial planning.
4. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite (ideally including use of primary care software - though we can assist in teaching this, currently we use EMIS and will be implementing ANIMA in January 2025).
7. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
