Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Cheshire East Council is seeking a dedicated SEND Keyworker to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that children and young people with SEND receive the support they need through effective Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of children and young people with EHCPs.
* Co-ordinate a person-centred, multi-agency approach to assessment and planning.
* Act as the main keyworker and Named Officer for settings attended by children with SEND.
* Attend and chair multi-agency meetings, ensuring effective co-production of EHCPs.
* Support families, providing advice on SEND procedures and signposting to advocacy services.
* Represent the Local Authority in mediation and tribunal proceedings.
* Monitor and review SEND support and EHCP implementation, ensuring best use of resources.
About You:
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification (e.g., Education, Social Work, Health, Educational Psychology).
* Experience working with children and young people with SEND in an educational or support setting.
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and person-centred planning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families and professionals.
* Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to manage a demanding caseload.
