The Opportunity
Please note that this is a fixed term contract opportunity for a period of 3 years and is offering 5 hours per week.
This is a new role to support an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO).
The tasks will be to remotely attend reviews for looked after children and take the notes of those meetings. Notes to be recorded by the BSA and added to the systems we use.
You will need to be flexible and work the 5 hours p/w on Monday, Tuesday and / or a Wednesday, as these are the days that the IRO works.
The Business Support Assistant (BSA) will work closely with the IRO to arrange times for when meetings need to be attended. These meetings will be booked up to 6 months in advance.
This position is listed as Chelmsford but could be based at any social care office as the work will all be online.
This role is specifically to meet the access needs of an ECC officer with disabilities. The role is funded entirely by Access to Work, is therefore cost neutral to ECC and is accommodated by the organisation as a reasonable adjustment in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Accountabilities
1. To provide high quality, efficient and effective Business Support services for an IRO.
2. To be efficient, organised, detail-oriented, flexible, and skilled in developing & maintaining workplace relationships.
3. The ability to take succinct notes of complex meetings and use standard platforms such as Microsoft Office to create child centred reports based on the information gathered at these meetings.
4. To provide high quality self-directed clerical support, checking own work and proactively look to raise standards.
5. To ensure deadlines are met and be adaptable to changing priorities.
6. To work in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
7. To work with sensitive information and maintain confidential records according to Essex County Council policy and guidance.
8. Sharing knowledge and good practice with colleagues and highlighting more efficient ways of delivering customer service.
9. To present a positive and professional image for the organisation.
The Experience You Will Bring
Essential:
10. Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) including maths and English or an equivalent vocational qualification.
11. Good communication skills, self-motivated, highly organised and detail oriented.
12. Confident and competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
13. The ability to work to agreed timescales ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner to a high standard.
Desirable:
14. Experience of using the Mosaic social care system.
15. Experience of dealing with sensitive and/or personal information.
16. Note taking experience and excellent written communication skills.
