The role
will ensure departments across the Council are provided with an exceptional standard of service to guide them through processes, ensuring that all procurement activities operate within the context of value for money, efficiency and continuous improvement, to ensure compliance with legal obligations and supporting the Council’s corporate aims and objectives.
The main duties of the post;
The successful candidate will be experienced and qualified to provide professional level support, as procurement lead on above threshold exercises, with knowledge and co-ordination of the full procurement and legal process.
You will have experience in/of;
Experience in and knowledge of tendering procedures in line with relevant Legislation, leading on tender exercises for a wide range of goods and services, for high value and complex contracts.
The successful candidate will have an attention to detail, excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative, and as part of a team, to deliver customer focused service.
Ideally you will have;
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Level 4 or equivalent
CIPS Level 5 or equivalent and above, and HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Business related subject would be desirable.
