Job Position:Internal Supply Chain Manager Department: Service (Intake) Reports to: General ManagerHours:40 hours per week (Mon Fri) Scope of Role Avondale Foods is a leading food manufacturing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Dunnes, Morrisons, Aldi & Lidl throughout the UK & Ireland. The purpose of this role is to receipt and organise stock and control the Service function of the business to ensure goods are managed efficiently and effectively whilst also working within food safety and quality parameters throughout the operational areas of the business. Key Responsibilities Ensure excellent stock rotation and overall efficient operation of the Intake area. Day to day management of the Service team - Monitor and review employee conduct and performance within agreed company procedures and policies Timely and accurate receipt of all goods/deliveries Movement/control of stock, WIP and waste throughout the business Utilize Microsoft Dynamics AX to analyse and optimize supply chain processes, including inventory tracking and waste measurement/management. Apply Lean principles to optimise processes and improve overall operational efficiencies utilizing lean tools including 5S and Kanban. Control the delivery schedule and work with procurement to coordinate deliveries Set, implement, enforce and monitor control standards to meet department objectives Identify training needs and, in collaboration with the relevant department, organise training where required. Ensure efficient communication and co-ordination between all departments Check stocks as per agreed schedule and inform relevant departments/managers of any issues Deal with any product deviations as directed by the Technical Department Inform management of any intake issues e.g. weight/pack size discrepancies Ensure the department conforms to internal procedures, policies, legislation and customer requirements Work to strict deadlines whilst leading and directing the team Implement Health and Safety compliance within all areas of the department and wider site Person Specification Essential Excellent standard of verbal and written English Strong analytical and numerical skills Minimum 2 years experience working in a similar environment Proven experience in a leadership/people management role (maintain high levels of discipline, deal with conflict, provide direction and delegate) IT literate Exceptional time management and organisation skills Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team Excellent communicator with the ability to engage at all levels and to contribute to meetings at a senior level Willingness to implement and embrace change Desirable GCSE English (or equivalent) GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) Previous experience in a food manufacturing factory Demonstrable team motivation skills Proficient in MS Office suite particularly Excel The ability to effectively manage your own workload and coordinate the workload of your team A collaborator who can demonstrate strong cross-functional skills Proven ability to carry out team briefs and one to one meetings with the team Excellent negotiation skills Skills: People Management Communicator Time Management Analytical
