Are you keen to work somewhere that’s stimulating and friendly, with loads of opportunities for growth and plenty of freedom to make a real impact? This could be the place for you!
We are looking for a Senior Fraud Analyst to join us at INSHUR! We’re based in sunny Brighton, and our company embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to thrive in both collaborative office settings and the comfort of your own home. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely while also connecting with your colleagues at our Brighton office at least 1 day per week, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment.
You’ll be working on re-inventing insurance in exciting markets across multiple territories including the UK, US, and the Netherlands, with plans to expand into new European countries.
Supported by (and reporting to) the Head of Fraud, you'll be joining a business that believes in delivering measurable value through data-driven decisions.
We value high performance and care deeply about making INSHUR a place where everyone is building something special that we can all be proud of, while enjoying the ride.
What you'll do
As a Senior Insurance Fraud and Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing data and claims evidence in various forms, undertaking searches, and reporting on findings to assist the claims department in mitigating the risk of fraud and preventing losses. You will create, monitor, and deliver data-influenced strategic improvements to our claims fraud processes and application fraud models, systems, and procedures, as well as being responsible for investigating fraud trends.
You will be:
* An Insurance Fraud expert: Bringing your motor insurance expertise to INSHUR to support our Insurance, Pricing, and Claims teams in all aspects of intelligence and fraud analytics.
* Analytical and agile in your approach: Reviewing a wide range of data and evidence, which can be presented in many formats, to help us reach data-driven decisions.
* Reporting: Preparing reports on policy and claims investigations, as well as producing briefings in accordance with internal policies.
* Responsible for third-party management: Engaging with Police and law enforcement agencies, making and responding to DPA requests from Police, licensing authorities, lawyers, and other insurers.
* Preventing application fraud: Helping to manage the counter-fraud element of the application and onboarding process, building on current processes and recommending process improvements.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* Motor Insurance Fraud Expertise: The experience to independently act as the Fraud Intelligence function serving Claims, Underwriting, and Pricing.
* Exceptional Communication Skills: Can communicate your solutions and results to a range of stakeholders; particularly the value a robust Counter Fraud offering brings to the wider business.
* A good technical skill set: Fully conversant in all of the industry-standard software with strong skills in using Analyst Notebook, Microsoft Excel, and SQL, and experienced with SIRA, MIAFTR, CUE, as well as interrogating open-source data. Some experience using Python or R would be a bonus.
* Initiative: Confidence and the ability to be decisive and work under your own initiative.
* Creativity: Ability to think outside of the box to identify fraud and risk and find the best solution.
You’ll love it here if you:
* Thrive navigating ambiguity and finding clarity in uncertain situations.
* Take pride in being accountable and owning your responsibilities.
* Enjoy a fast-paced environment where change happens quickly.
* Are solutions-focused and driven to overcome challenges.
* Embrace resilience and adapt to setbacks with a positive attitude.
* Are intellectually curious, constantly seeking to learn, explore new ideas, and not afraid to question and improve your understanding.
You may not enjoy working here if:
* Prefer a more structured, slow-moving environment.
* Feel most comfortable when tasks and processes are clearly defined from the start.
* Struggle with handling multiple challenges at once or adapting to frequent changes.
* Tend to stick strictly to your defined role and avoid contributing outside of your responsibilities.
What to expect from the process:
* Screen & Intro: 30-minute video call with the Talent Team to discuss the role and your experience.
* First Interview: 60-minute video call with the Head of Fraud and someone from the people team to delve into the role, including technical questions, questions around your experience in the Counter Fraud world, and culture fit questions. Plus an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have.
* Final Interview: 45-60 minute video call with the Head of Fraud and Head of Pricing.

Our budget for this role is £40,000 -£50,000 and we will take into account any previous experience and location of work when agreeing on the final offer. We offer all our employees stock options and we will pay into your pension monthly.
