The Senior Ecommerce Operations Analyst is a recognised subject matter expert in the field of ecommerce operations and analytics more broadly. This specialist role is responsible for delivering expert reporting and analysis, answering the most complex questions from across the business. They interact with a varied group of stakeholders to drive up the understanding of ecommerce operations and digital performance across the organisation, helping to shape our future strategies, improve customer experience, deepen engagement, drive revenue, and improve business efficiencies across both B&Q and TradePoint. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: Responsible for executing the most complex analytical briefs related to understanding omnichannel dynamics, digital fulfilment, and broader ecommerce operations requirements from a wide range of senior business stakeholders. Conduct deep-dives and incremental analysis into performance to generate actionable insights and informed recommendations. Own the analytics business partnering relationship with Ecommerce Operations, Logistics, Retail Operations, and Digital Supply teams; invest in building a collaborative relationship with these key stakeholders, developing a strong understanding of key challenges, opportunities, and areas of focus – and serve as the main point of contact for their analytical requirements. Ensure a persistent focus on the customer; proactively displaying omnichannel thinking and behaviours to drive a continuously improved customer centric experience. Design a development roadmap for ecommerce operations reporting that meets current and future business requirements and delivers value to stakeholders. Manage the Ecommerce Operations Analytics team backlog, using agile management practices (including wave/sprint planning) to prioritise effectively across the varying analytical needs. Ensure that all reporting deliverables adhere to quality assurance processes, including robust testing, documentation, and release. Responsible for data governance and data quality compliance. Lead an Ecommerce Operations Analyst, growing and nurturing them through coaching and training. Develop a culture of learning, empowerment, experimentation, and collaboration across the wider Digital Analytics team. Support the Analyst to plan their work; provide guidance and share best practice as required. Be an active member of the wider data community across the group, engaging with the group data team and other banners across the group. Bring external thinking to B&Q by maintaining an awareness of analytics usage in ecommerce and other sectors and by keeping abreast of competitor technology and developments. Maintain an expert understanding of business processes, systems and data structure, ensuring that analysis is built on the most relevant range of data points as applicable. Build winning partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders across Digital, Marketplace and Customer functions. Develop strategic awareness to translate stakeholder ambitions and goals into analytical challenges. Required Skills & Experience: You are an ecommerce operations expert. Your depth of experience enables you to fully understand the complex nuances behind omnichannel dynamics and operational impacts. You can create intricate reports using SAP Business Objects and can write complex SQL queries. Experience of GA4 and behavioural analytics tools like Contentsquare are highly desirable. You have experience in creating and delivering actionable self-serve reporting solutions using modern BI tools – ideally Power BI. You have proven project leading experience. You can manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and deliverables effectively and efficiently. You have experience working within and leading teams using Agile methodologies and approaches. You can apply Scrum, Kanban, or other frameworks to plan, execute, and review your work. You have a proven track record of being able to develop and coach highly technical teams. You can mentor, motivate, and empower your team members to grow their skills and performance. You have experience using cloud based analytical platforms such as Databricks and Google BigQuery. You can leverage the power and scalability of these platforms to handle large and complex data sets. You have a good understanding and can use statistical methods such as hypothesis testing and confidence intervals to draw valid conclusions and recommendations. You have a strong attention to detail and are willing to take the time to ensure the accuracy of your work. You can check, validate, and troubleshoot your data and code, and ensure they meet the quality standards and expectations. You care about Quality Assurance. You are empathetic to the importance of Data Governance and good Data Quality. You’ve used Asana or Jira/Confluence before for managing workloads and documentation. You can use these tools to organise, prioritise, and track your tasks and projects. You can also create and maintain clear and concise documentation for your team and stakeholders. You’re curious: about how things work and getting to the bottom of business problems and data nuances. You ask relevant and insightful questions, conduct thorough and rigorous analysis, and find creative and innovative solutions. You understand and maximise the value of analysis, and act with a commercial lens, prioritising the actions and usefulness of outputs. You can translate business objectives into analytical goals, prioritise the most impactful and feasible actions, and communicate the value and benefits of your outputs to the business. You’re a skilled storyteller who can bring that value to others – you know numbers don’t always speak for themselves and have excellent visuals to support. You can create and present compelling and engaging reports and dashboards that convey your insights and recommendations clearly and persuasively.
