A vibrant Mixed School in Hounslow seeks a passionate and engaging Sociology Teacher for a part-time, permanent position within our Humanities department. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to critically analyze social structures, inequalities, and contemporary social issues. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons at A-Level, covering core areas such as social inequality, crime and deviance, education, family, and media. Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate sociological theories, research methods, and critical analysis of social phenomena, encouraging students to explore different perspectives and engage with current social debates. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, research projects, and debates, providing detailed and constructive feedback to support their academic development in sociology. Organize and facilitate sociological discussions, debates, and potentially guest speakers to enrich students' understanding of social issues. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Sociology or a closely related field. Experience teaching A-Level Sociology, with a good understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements. A strong understanding of sociological theories, research methods, and the ability to critically analyze social issues. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students in the study of sociology. A passion for sociology and a commitment to fostering social awareness and critical thinking among students.
