They have been delivering advanced food production line solutions, equipment, and after-sales care to the global food industry. Today, they employ 120 people across two production sites and have designed, manufactured, and installed food production line solutions for major blue-chip food producers in 63 countries. As part of the next stage of their development, they are looking to add an experienced Project Engineer to their existing team. Liaising with the Sales Team and the Customer to reach an optimum solution and create a value proposition for the customer. Taking the agreed layout from inception to concept, customer approval. Presenting the finalised solution to a team of Design Engineers to produce high-quality drawing packs for manufacture. In addition, the role requires that the candidate will be responsible for technical support to other functions within the business. See the project through manufacture, installation, commissioning and closure. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Produce 3D Block Layout models in SolidWorks that reach optimum solutions to create value-added propositions and establish a clear scope of supply for the Customer. Present these Block Layout models to the customer to attain sign-off Meeting with customers and representing the Company in a professional and commercial manner Liaise with the Sales Team in managing additional sales revenue from items outside of the original scope of supply Liaise with a team of Design Engineers to produce SolidWorks models/drawings working from concepts/layout drawings for manufacture ensuring they conform to all mandatory legislation and to the customers’ expectations Ensure effective communication within the Projects/Design Team and across the organisation highlighting project progress/performance Manage project cost versus budget to ensure projected profitability is met To support other departments where required on issues of a technical nature Execute risk assessments for all propositions The production and maintenance of technical documentation as required Constant interrogation of product design to identify and implement cost savings and manufacturing/process improvements Specification of mechanical components such as belts, motors and pneumatics Using all above you will take a sold project from the sales department, add the detail necessary to get a customer sign-off before presenting it to the detailed design team and then follow the project through manufacture, installation and project closure Previous Experience/Qualifications: Minimum 3rd level qualification in Mechanical/Industrial engineering Fully conversant with SolidWorks Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment Experience with electrical and pneumatic controls is a distinct advantage. Experience in sheet metal fabrication is a distinct advantage Experience in the food industry is a distinct advantage Hands-on engineering experience a distinct advantage Commercially astute Excellent record keeping skills Ability to simultaneously deliver on multiple projects/commitments Ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation Ability to work independently or as part of a team Ability to remain calm under pressure and multi-task to meet tight deadlines PC literate A good eye with high attention to detail An enthusiastic and can-do attitude Must be willing to travel and work weekends where required
