Overview
Our client is looking for a strategic and skilled Technical Director to join the Senior Management Team, supporting the Engineering Team Manager and providing high-level technical oversight across projects. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is pivotal in guiding the company’s future direction, ensuring excellence in technical delivery, and aligning projects with company standards.
Main Duties
Bid Management: Lead bid proposals, quotations, and tender submissions to drive successful project acquisition.
Project Oversight: Ensure all project approvals align with company goals and meet technical standards.
Technical Leadership: Oversee engineering projects, lead technical design, and provide expert guidance, especially on major schemes.
CDM Documentation: Review and approve CDM 2015 documentation, covering roles from Principal Contractor to Designer.
Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company at design reviews, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) meetings, and client meetings to align project goals.
Value Engineering: Spearhead initiatives to enhance project value, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Commercial Oversight: Conduct reviews of commercial and contractual aspects, ensuring alignment with company strategy and risk management.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in technical leadership within engineering within the utilities sector - ideally water
Strategic mindset, proactive in driving both technical and commercial success.
Strong knowledge of industry standards with a history of managing complex projects to completion.
Experience with CDM 2015 regulations, comfortable handling documentation responsibilities across various project roles.
