Base pay range
* Initial 6-month contract with a likely extension
* Remote Engagement with approx. 2 days per month in Devonport
* Infrequent visits to Devonport can be expensed
About the Client:
With their extensive industry knowledge, they are a leading consultancy working within public sector clientele, employing approximately 35,000+ people across the world. They play a key role in maintaining the Royal Navy's fleet of surface ships and nuclear submarines, both within the UK and internationally. Due to further extensive growth, they are looking to expand their team by hiring an experienced Human Factors Engineer.
The Human Factors Engineer role:
Collaborating within a human factors team, your role will involve supporting engineers and other scientific disciplines working in the high-hazard, nuclear-regulated industry by contributing to the design and development of new systems, processes, and facilities, as well as modifications to existing ones and providing human factors expertise in the nuclear safety assessment process.
They are looking for a Human Factors Engineer to have:
* A degree in Psychology plus MSc in Occupational Psychology, Applied Psychology, Industrial Psychology, an Ergonomics based discipline or an engineering degree with high psychological/ergonomics content
* A registered Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors or a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society
* Significant experience working within high hazard process industries (e.g. nuclear, defence or petrochemical)
* A sound understanding of nuclear safety assessment principles and safety case production
* Familiarity with both HF qualitative and quantitative HRA techniques (e.g. HEART, THERP, APJ)
* SC clearance is essential for the role
