You will be responsible for supporting the community teams, community inpatient units and other primary health care staff with the management of patients with complex and / or chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and other wounds. This will be achieved with the shared aim of promoting excellent care at the heart of the community. As the Tissue Viability Nurse you will assist with the development and participate in the delivery of the tissue viability educational programme to health care personnel involved with wound care and skin care within the local health economy. This will include formal group training, facilitating TVN Forum sessions and one to one training of staff, patients and relatives. You will also be working as part of the wider Sussex Community Foundation Trust to promote best practice and on-going service development that is responsive to the wound care needs of the area the service provide. When necessary you will deputise for the Band 7 Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist nurse and work as part of the wider SCFT TVN team on Trust wide tissue viability related projects.
