Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School in Middleton
Position: Full-Time Behaviour Mentor
Location: Middleton, Greater Manchester
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Pay: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Middleton. This role will see you work directly with students who need additional behavioural and emotional support to thrive in their school environment.
You will play a vital role in building positive relationships, supporting students to manage their emotions, and helping to de-escalate challenging situations. Your patience, empathy, and proactive approach will make a real difference in creating a calm and productive learning space.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with behavioural or emotional difficulties, ensuring they feel safe and valued.
Build strong, trusting relationships with young people to improve their confidence and engagement.
Use de-escalation techniques to manage and defuse volatile situations effectively.
Work closely with teaching staff and the pastoral team to provide holistic support to students.
Promote positive behaviours and assist with personal development through mentoring.
Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.What We're Looking For:
Experience working with young people, ideally in a mentoring or behaviour support role.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students quickly.
Patience, empathy, and resilience when handling challenging situations.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to behaviour management.
