Key Objective of the Role
This role demands a self-motivated and technically proficient individual with an outgoing personality and the drive to excel in a dynamic, global environment. Domestic and international travel is expected, and you must be comfortable managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining clear communication.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting Dynament’s sensor development programme bringing new, high-quality products to market and expanding our capability to detect a broader range of gases. You’ll provide first-class technical and commercial support, helping uphold our reputation for reliability and innovation.
Your background in gas sensing, coupled with excellent project management and analytical skills, will allow you to drive commercial decisions, identify trends, and support strategic growth. Your ability to build customer relationships, contribute to product lifecycles, and collaborate across departments will be essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Provide technical product and application support to customers
2. Offer guidance on gas sensing, detection, and analysis systems
3. Interpret customer requirements and present tailored solutions
4. Communicate technical needs to internal production teams
5. Prepare quotations and process orders
6. Manage lead qualification, follow-ups, and pipeline reporting
7. Collaborate with Marketing on communication strategies
8. Contribute to new product development planning
9. Influence the full product lifecycle—from concept to market
10. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and timelines
11. Support customer enquiries, troubleshooting, and product failure resolution
12. Analyse feedback and performance data to drive improvements
13. Deliver technical training to internal and external audiences
14. Maintain and grow customer relationships
15. Act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams
16. Conduct customer meetings and identify improvement opportunities
17. Support continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts
18. Assist in commercial activities including pricing development
Experience and Background Requirements
1. Strong background in gas sensor technologies and applications
2. Scientific or technical qualification (degree-level preferred)
3. Fluent in English (written and verbal)
4. Self-driven with a team-oriented and customer-focused mindset
5. Prior experience in technical sales within gas sensing or related fields
6. A proactive, problem-solving approach with a willingness to learn
7. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
8. Effective written and verbal communication skills
9. Confidence in developing long-term customer relationships
10. Empathy and adaptability when engaging with different stakeholders
11. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); CRM experience is a plus
