Overview of project/role
The Head of Retail at London Transport Museum has overall responsibility for the commercial income, development, and continuous improvement of the LTM retail business. You will be accountable for setting, driving, and delivering on commercial retail targets for LTM and report into the Enterprises Director. The retail business is currently generating £4.5m income with a net profit contribution of £830k.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop and implement the retail strategy for the profitable growth of the LTM retail business.
* Ensure annual retail sales, contribution, and stock targets are met for each of the budgeted areas.
* Responsible for the Museum's stock holding and stock management systems.
* Responsible for the efficient running of the Museum’s stock warehouse facility.
* Manage the online shop’s external fulfilment company and digital agencies.
* Responsible for the development of the Museum's retail marketing strategy.
* Capital and Operational expenditure responsibility for the LTM Retail business.
* Line management of 6, including the Shop Manager.
* Monitor retail and cultural industry trends and developments.
* Lead the entire retail team, creating a one-team approach.

* Experience of Ecommerce and retail technology systems.

* A successful track record at a senior management level in high street or cultural sector retail.
* Experience of visual merchandising principles.
* Line management experience, with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
* Proven ability to set, meet, and be accountable for retail sales targets.
* Experience in developing a successful retail strategy.
