Hours: Mon – Fri 9.30am-5pm (1 hour break for lunch)
Our client, an established domestic violence charity, is looking to recruit an Employment Coach to develop a new project to support women who have experienced domestic abuse and are at risk of offending, to gain employment skills and work experience.
Synopsis of Duties:
1. Assist clients to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals.
2. Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively.
3. Develop effective job coaching and employability support plans with clients.
4. Create and deliver 10-week rolling programmes of employability workshops to develop skills including confidence and motivation, CV writing, interview techniques, skill checks, digital skills, and job search.
5. Provide mentoring and coaching in effective job search techniques.
6. Have a creative approach to engaging with participants.
7. Be responsible for a caseload of participants, providing signposting and advocacy, addressing their needs and barriers to employment.
8. Work with participants on a one-to-one or group basis as appropriate.
9. Interview participants to gain information and ascertain their requirements.
10. Motivate, encourage, and support participants to move towards employment and tailor a package of support to meet their individual needs.
11. Assist participants to plan and progress, in line with their action plans, towards improving their life and employment chances.
12. Be responsible for ensuring all Key Performance Indicators are consistently achieved.
13. Meet deadlines and targets as required by the needs of the programme.
14. Organise work placement experience by matching the skills of women with businesses, charities, and other agencies.
15. Work closely with external organisations to ensure you achieve referrals onto the programme.
Essential Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a job coach.
2. Experience in working with vulnerable people.
3. Experience in developing employment plans.
4. Working knowledge of MS Office.
5. Enhanced Child and Adult workforce DBS on the update service.
