Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Reports To: Managing Director
Role Overview:
As the Purchasing Manager, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of building the Purchasing Department. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing purchasing functions and improving procurement processes. You will be the architect of the department, laying down the foundation for policies, procedures, and systems that ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness in our purchasing operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Department Establishment: Design and implement the structure of the Purchasing Department, including developing roles, responsibilities, and workflows.
2. Contract Management: Negotiate, manage, and monitor contracts with suppliers to ensure terms are met and value is maximised.
3. Supplier Performance: Develop and implement methods to evaluate supplier performance, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost metrics are achieved.
4. Procurement Strategy: Craft and execute a strategic purchasing plan that aligns with the company's goals and market dynamics.
5. Cost Optimisation: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement expenses and improve profitability.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and ensure they are met efficiently and effectively.
7. Overseas Efficiencies: Operate & understand different cultures & languages. Procure and organise deals, contracts, shipments, deferments and cost implications from around the World.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience in a managerial purchasing role, with a strong background in setting up purchasing departments or processes.
2. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
3. Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with experience in supplier evaluation and contract management.
4. Knowledge of the latest trends in procurement and supply chain management.
5. Ability to analyse market trends and supplier performance.
6. Proven track record in managing vendor relationships.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
