BNF and BNFC are unique in bringing together authoritative, independent guidance on best practice with clinically validated drug information, enabling health professionals to select safe and effective medicines for their patients.
The Paediatric Formulary Committee (PFC) is the clinical governance board of BNFC. Members of the PFC review significant amendments to BNFC content and contribute to clinical policy decisions for the publication.
The BNF and BNFC Editorial team are looking to recruit a paediatric nurse, a general practitioner (GP) with a special interest in paediatrics, and a pharmacist working in academia (preferably with an interest in paediatrics) to the PFC. The appointment is for three years, beginning in March 2025. Committee work is conducted up to monthly via electronic forum, with two meetings a year in London or virtually as appropriate (meetings are held in private).

* Use your clinical experience to contribute to discussions regarding the content of BNFC to improve patient care and outcomes;

Skills and experience:
We would welcome an application from you if you have:
* Registration with the appropriate registering body (e.g. General Medical Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council);
* Experience in general paediatrics and are currently working in UK clinical practice;
* Demonstrable experience on clinical committees in paediatrics;
* Ability to participate in up to monthly forums and attend twice-yearly committee meetings (in person or virtually as appropriate);
* Good communication and team-working skills;
* Experience of working with research literature with a willingness to consider clinical data and make decisions;
* Ability to maintain confidentiality as needed;
* A commitment to work within the framework of BNF and BNFC processes.
Additional information
All Committee members will be offered induction training and receive support from the BNF and BNFC Editorial team and other committee members.
Membership of the PFC is voluntary; reasonable travel and subsistence costs are reimbursed.
