Engineering Supervisor

Macphie invites you to join our flavourful journey! As a leading family ingredient manufacturer, we are seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities related to factory equipment and services.
This is a Monday to Friday working schedule of 40 hours per week, with a subsidized on-site canteen for your lunch.
The role:
As our Engineering Supervisor, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and safe operation of our food processing and packaging machinery.
Day-to-day tasks will include:
* Manage the engineering team to achieve operational targets and continuous improvement goals.
* Manage contractors for both maintenance and project work, with some weekend work required on an ad-hoc basis.
* Collaborate with the Engineering Planner to schedule planned maintenance and corrective actions.
* Manage and report on priority issues during daily and weekly operations reviews.
* Provide hands-on support for breakdowns and repairs as needed.
* Coach and train engineering staff on specialized tasks.
* Perform root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns.
* Develop and implement maintenance strategies for food processing and packaging equipment.
* Drive innovation and improvement projects to enhance production efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Mentor and develop team members through training and performance evaluations.
About You – Experience and Qualifications:
* Qualified Engineer (Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification).
* Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Team player with the ability to work under pressure.

What we need from you:
We require to check and confirm that you have the right to work in the UK. Successful applicants will participate in a telephone screening call, followed by a face-to-face interview at our office in Glenbervie.
