Job requirements We have a new opportunity for a Release Manager to join the Aptia Information Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating software releases, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments. This role involves automating build, test, and deployment processes, and collaborating with various teams to maintain the integrity and reliability of software products. This position will work on a hybrid basis, ideally from London but may be aligned to any Aptia UK office. What you’ll be doing: Work alongside another Release Manager as a small team in Managing day to day activities around releases from development through to production. Producing deployment, implementation, and run books plans. Manage source code repositories and ensure adherence to version control best practices. Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). Design and implement release pipelines for smooth and reliable software rollouts. Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to coordinate release schedules and dependencies. Maintaining and improving overall release process to achieve best practice Ensure release deliverables comply with quality assurance standards and meet customer expectations. Maintain documentation related to release procedures, configurations, and modifications. Securing relevant resource for releases. Develop and enforce policies for hotfixes and emergency releases. Track and report on release metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Manage environment configurations, including deployment and rollback procedures for multiple environments. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously refine and improve the release process. Attend meetings with the wider business and senior stakeholders on upcoming releases so any concerns can be highlighted / discussed Reporting on releases / lessons learned / feeding back in to process / documentation Raising CO / Implementation plans / verifying implementation plans – general admin Chair Go / No Go calls for releases where needed with relevant stake holders What we’re looking for: Minimum 5 years’ experience in release analyst/manager or a similar role. Extensive experience of projects includes a strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) with software development models like Agile, Scrum Model, JIRA, Waterfall Models and Agile Ops methodologies. Strong knowledge of version control systems. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Previous experience in a highly regulated financial services environment. Full understanding and adherence to the concepts of key regulatory items such as audit and data protection (GDPR) is required. Understanding of change control, process and procedures and sign-offs. Ability to own and manage CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings. Working knowledge of Incident management portal (Manage Engine, ServiceNow etc). Experience with using DevOps CI/CD pipeline tools is essential. Associated applications such as Jenkins, GitLab CI would be advantageous. Ability to manage and plan a release schedule.
