Job Details: Peripatetic Recovery Coordinator
Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
We have an exciting opportunity to join County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service as a Peripatetic RAD Recovery Coordinator to be based in Bishop Auckland. The RAD is a 12-week structured programme for clients who are abstinent.
This role involves working across the whole of County Durham at our centres in Bishop Auckland, Durham, Peterlee, and Consett. The County Durham service has recently been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC and is a great place to work. The service supports adults, children, young people, and families across County Durham with drug and alcohol issues. The successful post holder will match our organisational ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service delivery across County Durham, engaging with local communities and supporting their priorities.
Main duties of the role include:
1. To deliver recovery academy pathways and interventions within the service, ensuring provision is integrated and effective.
2. To promote a positive, inclusive and therapeutic environment within RAD programme delivery, ensuring client engagement, participation and feedback is prioritised across all delivery elements.
3. To deliver an evidence-based comprehensive psychosocial programme alongside a range of activities that support the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
4. Manage a service user caseload, reviewing ongoing care and treatment and liaising closely with the full range of workers and skills within the multi-agency team, including family members and significant others as appropriate.
