Are you an experienced Engineering Planner looking to develop your career in a major paper product manufacturer based at our site in Chesterfield?
We are looking for an Engineering Planner to join the engineering team to build and communicate week by week plans to assist in the completion of planned maintenance activities as well as ad-hoc repairs and maintenance.
The Planner reports to the Engineering Manager and works in close coordination with electrical and mechanical leads, along with process colleagues to ensure the timely response to engineering issues which may be affecting process capability or quality issues.
We are looking for a candidate who has completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship preferably with city and guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification, with experience in maintenance engineering, who is proficient in Microsoft projects.
Responsibilities
1. Translates the requirements of the daily action list into achievable, prioritised and resourced work lists.
2. Supports the engineering team to build programs of work into engineering shut plans.
3. Engineering plans to be communicated in a timely manner, resourced and clearly presented with expected timelines.
4. Liaise with contract companies to effectively resource maintenance activities.
5. Scopes work with contract resource.
6. Ensures all planned work activities have, insofar as reasonably practicable, spares available.
7. Completes work lists on CMMS system to maintain engineering records.
8. Assists in the development and review of PPM inspections to achieve mill expectations.
9. Coordinates with our insurance inspectors and the mechanical lead to arrange insurance inspections.
10. Ensures planned maintenance activities have required documentation i.e. RAMS, SOP’s, and P/O’s.
You will be working Monday to Friday – 39 hours per week.
Essential skills and experience
1. Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment.
2. Will be self-motivated and an excellent communicator.
3. Have high standards of work in both maintenance and installation fields.
4. Proficient in Microsoft project.
5. Planning and organisation.
6. High level of understanding of processes to enable prioritising.
7. Understands root cause analysis.
8. Working knowledge of computerised systems is essential.
9. Highly numerate.
