Longrove Surgery are looking for a General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join the team. The applicant must have experience in working with the NHS, have good computer skills and offer excellent customer service. A candidate who has undertaken the General Practice Assistant course for Primary Care is preferable, however this is not essential.
Our GPAs are key contributors in supporting the smooth running of the practice by providing internal administrative support necessary for the practice team to meet the needs of and caring for our patients. This role provides an accessible, safe and effective line of communication for patients. The purpose of this supporting role is to ensure that our patients receive an all-around excellent experience.
Main duties of the job
* Deal with the incoming correspondence to the practice via letter and email
* Work with the Amina system to ensure correct clinical coding of letters and contact patients accordingly
* Liaise with patients via incoming phone calls to the practice
* Work with our prescription clerk team to ensure patients receive repeat prescriptions in a timely manner
* Work with our other GPs and Care Navigation team to ensure processing of eConsults is completed within designated time frames
About us
We are a friendly, supportive training practice in North London. We currently have 8 salaried GPs, 5 GP Partners and a Management Partner. We also have nurses, HCAs and a pharmacist in our clinical team.
We are a training practice and have approximately 17,500 patients.
We are located in a Primary Care Health Centre and are looking to expand our administration team. We have a large admin team to assist the clinicians which includes GP Assistants, Prescription Clerks and Medical Secretaries.
Our practice is part of a Primary Care Network and actively involved in a range of schemes and services to provide high quality to the local population.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in General Practice (primary care) is preferable
* Completion of the General Practice Assistant Programme is desirable but not essential
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
