Be a competent practitioner in echocardiography procedures. Have an advanced knowledge of products and procedures. Be able to autonomously perform routine and complex diagnostic echocardiography procedures. Be involved in supervision and training of other cardiac physiologists. Participate on a roster basis as required. Monitor and maintain quality of services within echocardiography. Be willing to develop further highly technical specialist and advanced practical skills in complex echo service. Participate in the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring the smooth running of a quality service. To independently assess referred patients. Monitor the appropriateness of referrals, obtaining information relevant to patient care, interpreting, and reporting clinical findings and ensuring appropriate discharge or ongoing care. Encourage and support staff to obtain BSE accreditation. To provide teaching and support, to all members of the department and medical staff who are learning technical cardiology.
