About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN). You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support, helping students to overcome challenges and succeed academically and socially. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA): Providing one-on-one and small group support: Assist students with their learning and development, using evidence-based strategies to help them achieve their goals. Implementing individual education plans (IEPs): Work with teachers to develop and implement IEPs that address the specific needs of each student. Supporting classroom activities: Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment by supporting classroom activities and managing behaviour. Encouraging social and emotional development: Assist students in developing social skills and emotional resilience, promoting positive interactions and self-regulation techniques. Monitoring progress: Keep detailed records of students’ progress and behaviour, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties. Collaborating with external agencies: Work with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students and their families. Requirements of Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant with Special Educational Needs experience. A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
