We are looking for a qualified, experienced and highly motivated Transport Network Solutions Manager to oversee transport operations across multiple locations. This pivotal role will involve managing a varying sized team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our customers. This is a site-based operational management role, reporting directly to the Head of Transport. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily transport operations, fleet management, and delivery scheduling, ensuring customer requirements are consistently met whilst optimising cost efficiency and operational performance. They will demonstrate a leadership approach that promotes an inclusive culture, leading to high levels of trust, engagement, and performance, ensuring compliance with legal, KPI, budgetary targets and maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance within the transport function. Provide strong and authentic leadership for the transport operations team, including planning and fleet management. Collaborate with the planning team and leadership to assess operational capabilities and prepare for key business events. Stay up to date with legislation and implement necessary adjustments. Continuously improve KPI performance whilst understanding the business and cost implications of decisions. Manage daily risk and compliance, ensuring all operations adhere to legal, policy, and safety requirements. Lead and develop the team, identifying talent, supporting development, and driving succession planning. Maintain and enhance business continuity plans. Identify operational efficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives as a change agent. Develop and implement people and talent strategies for the operation. Ensure customer needs are at the centre of decision-making, balancing service and operational efficiency. Manage third-party service level agreements in collaboration with Procurement. Work with the broader leadership team to optimise operations and balancing service levels and costs. Influence, manage, and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Union partnerships. Support the people plan and ensure an accurate colleague life cycle using the People Business Model. Foster collaboration across sites, teams, and logistics partners to achieve the best outcomes and share best practices. What will you bring? Essential Skills & Qualifications: International CPC and being a named O Licence Holder is a fundamental requirement for this role Transport Management experience across open and closed book contracts, managing complex and dynamic operations across multiple product types Expertise in adhering to standards, safety protocols, and legal requirements while embedding risk mitigation strategies into operations to safeguard stakeholders and assets. Proven ability to lead change initiatives, implement projects, and integrate new systems and processes seamlessly into existing operations. Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to resolving complex operational challenges and making confident decisions. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience working in a unionised environment and building positive relationships with key stakeholders.
