Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Worker with a passion for supporting young people and addressing behavioural challenges within a secondary school environment? You will play a key role in building positive relationships with students, implementing behaviour support strategies, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture. Responsibilities: Provide targeted support to secondary school students exhibiting challenging behaviours, working both on a one-to-one and small group basis. Build rapport and establish trusting relationships with students to understand the underlying reasons for their behaviour. Implement agreed behaviour support plans and contribute to their development in collaboration with school staff. Deliver individualised and group interventions to promote positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation. Act as a positive role model and mentor for students. Support the reintegration of students following periods of absence or behavioural incidents. Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other support services within the school. Contribute to the development of a positive behaviour policy and whole-school initiatives. Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress. Requirements: Relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Care, Education, or a related field. Experience of working with young people facing behavioural challenges, ideally within a school or similar setting. Understanding of adolescent development, factors influencing behaviour, and effective intervention strategies. Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Right to work in the UK. Desirable (Optional): Specific training in behaviour management techniques or restorative approaches. Experience in delivering mentoring or coaching programmes.
