About Clare
4 years ago, Clare ditched the corporate life for Melton Mowbray’s show business. She joined us as our first Experience Facilitator. We’ve documented Clare’s success and want to share it with you!
Having trained as a chef in London, Clare O’Donnel has spent most of her career in the corporate world. At the height of her career, she was managing 96 Tesco shops but wanted to ‘be free of the corporate strangle hold’ and enjoy her work again, doing something she had always been passionate about. She decided enough was enough and took the leap of faith to change direction in her career.
Before finding us, Clare didn’t know that a job like this existed. Combining her love for cooking and her interest in theatre and shows, she really hit the jackpot when landing upon us. Clare wanted to go back to her food roots and landed upon our small family business. Clare realised she could recreate her own food show in our bakery in Melton Mowbray.
Having always enjoyed teaching and presenting, becoming an Experience Facilitator was a perfect fit for Clare. Being able to work on a few evenings and alternate weekends gives Clare the ‘flexibility she needs whilst still maintaining a good routine’.
Clare has taken great joy in sharing food knowledge with all our attendees and ‘building their food skill and capability’. She has even taken her talents to TV appearing on the BBC and ITV! She’s really the Nigella Lawson of Melton Mowbray. Clare has even hosted her own youtube series ‘Cooking with Clare’ which was a lockdown success!
