We are looking for an Assistant Principal Officer who will play a pivotal role in helping to shape, evolve and embed the Council’s overall strategy to meet the Additional Support Needs of children and young people in North Lanarkshire. This is an exciting time to join Education and Families as the service is currently in the process of integrating a cluster and locality based improvement operating model, posing an opportunity to work with staff at all levels and offer suggestions based on previous experience to shape this role.
With detailed knowledge of the Additional Support Needs sector, including legislative and current practices, you will have a proven history of innovative responses to inclusion. Your experience and understanding will ensure that North Lanarkshire delivers on the Scottish Government’s policy objectives with regards to inclusion.
You will have a proven track record of successful and innovative multi-agency approaches to supporting the needs of young people in education. Additionally, you will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a real desire to work collaboratively in order to deliver a common goal.
You will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme member, prior to commencing this role.
