This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team in a senior clinical position as Matron within our Community and Rehab care group.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate individual with proven leadership experience who has the energy to support and coach staff to ensure best practice across services. You will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships. You will lead by example, motivate, and empower the team as well as be passionate about staff well-being.
The Role would have responsibilities for the inpatient ward and the Hospital Palliative care team of Nurse Specialists at Florence Nightingale Hospice. They would also manage and lead the winter escalation ward "Olympic Lodge" from November to April. This is a ward for patients awaiting their care packages to facilitate discharge who do not require an acute hospital bed.
To provide senior clinical leadership by being creative with both human and physical resources; has the ability to look at new ways of working, highlighting new possibilities and can influence others having the ability to see and understand situations from various perspectives
To manage specialist nurses as appropriate to their own areas
The post holder needs to be able to respect other feelings and can be responsive to both individuals and organisational needs having the ability to be supportive of others particularly when experiencing change management.
The post holder will need to provide specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in their related field. They will be a driver of qualitative, innovative, productive, safe evidence based nursing care which promotes best practice and best outcomes for patients.
Outcomes will be based on direct and indirect patient feedback, audits both internal and external, peer reviews, matron’s rounds and corporate quality targets for both patients and staff.
The role is one that is 50% clinical and 50% managerial. The post holder will provide a positive visible role model; influencing best practice from the clinical base; challenging, encouraging, coaching and mentoring appraisal needs of staff as they become apparent.
