Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Band 6 Sister in the Head and Neck Outpatients Department. This includes ENT, MAX fax, Orthodontic and Plastics. The department provides an extensive range of specialist clinics. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Senior Sister to ensure the delivery of patient centred and clinically effective care and act as a role model to the Nursing team. You will be expected to lead the team with a hands on approach, with the drive of service improvement. We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a passion to identify new ways of working to deliver our service in a responsive way to our patients, in line with local and national guidelines. Management of clinic scheduling, and clinician allocation, liaising with clinicians and the operational team is essential part of the role and recent experience of clinic working is essential. You will be responsible for staff rotas and appraisals and delivery of quality Matrix. Main duties of the job Acting as a support to the Senior Sister in the department. In the absence of the Senior Sister you must effectively manage the whole department including ENT, Max Fax and Orthodontics to ensure the delivery of high quality care. To provide the junior nursing team with support and leadership. You will predominately over see the day to day running of ENT but the role will also include close working with the Max Fax and Orthodontic Dental Sisters, and will cross cover when required. To work closely with clinicians in the clinical setting and assisting with examinations as required. To collaborate with other members of the wider MDT such as Nurse specialists, Speech and Language Team, and Dietetic team to provide seamless quality care to our service users.
