About the Role
MedGen is looking for compassionate and dedicated School Nurses to provide essential care and support for children with diverse needs. This role involves working closely with children in care, those with disabilities, or those requiring emotional and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Employees in roles at this level are expected to work unsupervised for much of the time, accessing and assessing information independently.
* Lead and coordinate school nursing services, supporting children’s health and well-being.
* Assess, plan, and implement care for children with complex health needs.
* Provide leadership, supervision, and training for junior staff and healthcare assistants.
* Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver public health initiatives.
* Safeguard children and young people, ensuring adherence to NHS policies and guidelines.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse (RN) with NMC registration and a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) qualification (School Nursing).
* Experience in managing or supervising a team.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, public health, and child development.
* Experience working with schools, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
