Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lift Engineer / AP Supervisor project specialist on lift and shift and rigging of heavy equipment. This role requires a technically skilled professional who will oversee the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of lifts on a busy construction site.
Responsibilities
* Lift Installation & Maintenance:
* Supervise the installation, commissioning, and regular maintenance of passenger and goods lifts on the construction site.
* Authorised Person Duties:
* Act as the designated AP for lift operations, responsible for overseeing all lifting activities on-site.
* Safety Compliance:
* Evaluate if all lift operations comply with relevant health and safety legislation, including LOLER and PUWER.
* Risk Assessments & Method Statements:
* Prepare, review, and approve lift-specific risk assessments, method statements, and lifting plans.
* Team Leadership:
* Supervise and mentor junior lift engineers, technicians, and contractors.
* Technical Support:
* Troubleshoot technical issues with lift systems.
* Coordination & Communication:
* Liaise with site management teams and external suppliers.
* Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain records of all lift operations.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 6 LOLER Specialist Certification.
* CPSCA61 AP Test.
* Proven experience as a Lift Engineer in a construction environment.
* Authorised Person (AP) certification or experience in lifting operations.
* Strong understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
Skills
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Ability to read and interpret lift drawings and technical manuals.
