About The Role We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Senior Family Finding Officer. You will support the Family Finding Team Manager in delivering excellent customer service with the primary aim of negotiating and securing safe child placement admissions across your region. You will hold line management responsibility for a small team of Family Finding Officers and ensure that all referrals of children are responded to timely and efficiently in respect of family finding for children who are unable to live at home. The role is busy and varied and you will be managing a wide range of tasks including; data inputting and updating systems, liaising and utilizing your negotiation skills with local authorities, identifying and placing children with foster carers (with the support of a Duty Social Worker), providing business information, attending meetings, taking notes/actions and monitoring/reporting on performance, daily administrative tasks and be in daily contact with many different stakeholders both internally and externally to the organisation. Main Duties You will receive and progress all child referral requests from Local Authorities, which includes working with social work practitioners, foster carers and other professionals to identify safe foster families. You will identify and coordinate all placement moves, including any in-house moves, respite care and preparing complex packages of care. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, aptitude to motivate staff and possess strong line management, coaching and supervisory experience. To actively promote foster carers and other Compass services to customers – sending out regular updates whilst also maintaining active telephone communication and building positive customer relationships. Liaise with the commercial team and external commissioning teams with respect to negotiating funding and individual placement contract agreements. Data inputting skills are required as is the ability to audit and maintain quality data. Attendance at meetings, both internal and external. Skills and experience required Demonstrable experience in a similar work setting, or transferable skill set e.g. Sales, Administration, Customer Care or an Account Management environment. Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, good organizational skills and previous line management experience. Proficient IT skills.
