The Opportunity
If you are a Lead EC&I Engineer looking to join a great team in a large engineering design consultancy, or a Senior EC&I Engineer looking to take the next step in your career, this is the role for you!
Your Duties and Responsibilities
1. Together with your team of engineers and designers, you are responsible for the Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects.
2. These projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Design.
3. The projects will be for different sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Food), small and large projects, and greenfield and brownfield.
4. You are responsible to manage and complete the EC&I design within budget and planning, including change control and consistency of the EC&I design with the other disciplines.
5. You are responsible for the quality of the EC&I design.
6. You will participate in internal and external design reviews and are responsible for the design acceptance by the client.
7. Depending on size and complexity, you may be Lead Engineer EC&I for one project, or for a portfolio of projects.
8. Make independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within EC&I Engineering.
9. You are responsible for leading and driving quality in all Engineering designs and projects, including the checking and approval of discipline design deliverables to company procedures.
10. You shall be able to effectively carry out, check and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control and report all costs on allocated projects in terms of progress, scope change, and man hours.
Your Qualifications & Experience
1. More than 5 years of experience as Lead / Senior Engineer EC&I, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in one of the above-mentioned sectors.
2. Deep knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with sound knowledge of other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Process).
3. MEng / BEng / HNC / HND in EC&I Engineering.
4. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred).
5. BS#removed#th Edition required.
6. Application of functional safety 61508 and 61511 (Preferred).
7. COMPEX Ex12a and 12b (Preferred).
8. Result-oriented; satisfaction comes from delivering top quality and ensuring client satisfaction.
9. Experienced with the main EC&I design packages including AMTECH, AutoCAD, AutoCAD electrical, Revit, Dialux, and all Microsoft office packages.
10. Sound understanding of the current British and European Standards.
11. Ability to lead and motivate your team to achieve targets.
