Senior Project Manager
Location: Scotland - Central, Northern and Highlands
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + car/allowance, pension, healthcare and 25 days + stats
The Client
Our client is one of the UK’s leading companies in power distribution, electrical networks and facilities management. As a business, they offer building maintenance repair, HV/LV Connections, substation maintenance, electrical and civil engineering design, overhead lines work, and much more. Due to increasing workload, our client has created a role for a Senior Project Manager to join their team. This role will lead several Project Managers managing a number of small teams installing and constructing electrical power distribution and transmission systems from 11kV to 132kV and will report to the Operations Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership, drive, discipline, and support to the Project Managers and teams through direction, guidance, advice, and commitment as required.
2. Ensure Health and Safety is of utmost importance. Undertake the site supervisor role when required, in accordance with the CDM regulations.
3. Efficiently execute the project management role on several projects running concurrently while managing their team of Project Managers.
4. Appraise direct reports regularly to develop them, increase skill range, knowledge base, and performance.
5. Resource control. Organise, control, and deploy materials/equipment/labour resources for upcoming works on various projects.
6. Production of as-built records, test results, updated drawings, and reports for projects.
Skills and Experience Required
1. HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering (and/or time served).
2. Good operational knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
3. Site safety passport and/or experience of working on CDM sites.
4. SSSTS or SMSTS is desirable, not essential.
5. Possession of SSE DNO authorisation to receive and cancel PTW.
The Rewards
The rewards for the successful candidate are good. The role is offered on a permanent basis with a good basic salary of £55-65,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus a benefits package including a car allowance of £4,800 per annum.
