We have an exciting development opportunity within UHD Theatres Department. We are expanding our successful Apprentice Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) Programme with a cohort enrolling in the newly designed Apprentice programme at Bournemouth University (BU).
The successful applicants will be employed on an AFC band 3 on a fixed 3 year (full time) contract with a base site of either Bournemouth or Poole Hospital; applicants will be expected to work cross site in order to complete learning objectives.
The apprenticeship will incorporate a block learning model alternating between academic study at BU and on the job learning in the 3 areas of theatre practice; Anaesthetics, Surgical Scrub and Recovery (PACU).
You will be supported throughout the course by BU practising lecturers and in the clinical environment by the UHD Perioperative Development Team and qualified Practice Supervisors.
All applicants must have:
• Minimum level 3 or equivalent qualification preferably, in a health or science related subject(s) (or 104-120 UCAS points).
• A minimum level 2 qualifications in both English and Maths
• If English is not your first Language you will need IELTS (academic) 7.0 with a minimum 6.5 in each component.
