About the Role
A vacancy has arisen within our Technology & Improvement department for a Senior Asset Improvement Engineer (Electrical). Tronox Stallingborough are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role and be accountable for execution of strategic asset programs on a range of electrical, instrumentation and control system assets. The role will act as a custodian of electrical installations, ensuring legal compliance with relevant regulations and also provide professional engineering support for ongoing maintenance, whilst also playing a leading role in identifying and implementing electrical improvements to safety, reliability and energy reduction.
This is a varied role with the successful candidate collaborating with personnel across the site, providing engineering support to Maintenance and Reliability functions and a strong emphasis on supporting the projects team with a wide variety of large capital installations from concept through to commissioning. The company has ambitious sustainability target and this role will look for energy saving initiatives such as VSD, lighting and supporting ISO50001 accreditation.
This position will hold the level of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to operate, maintain and manage the high voltage and low voltage interconnection network at the Stallingborough site and will form part of a team of four HV engineers. A comprehensive training program in place
Primary Responsibilities:
10. Develop and manage medium-long term asset management plans for plant assets to achieve business objectives (Safe, Low Cost, Sustainable, Quality Production)
11. Completes obsolescence reviews to provide a systematic approach to the effective management of assets aging and asset life extension for I&E equipment in line with ISO55001 Asset Management. Following on from which, identify capital requirements, formulate a business case and submit applications
12. Prepare and effectively administer budgets for projects / programs and identify opportunities for reducing costs
13. Follow change management processes ( drawing updates) and support of the drawing office
14. Supports Operations in project execution by completing maintainability analysis and operational readiness activities
15. Manage costs within own area of responsibility
16. Produce and review Instrument and Electrical Instructions (IEI’s)
17. Support the Engineering & Project team in the initiation / development of capital project scopes
18. Support maintenance shutdowns
About You
The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, professional, flexible, and well-rounded individual with good environmental experience who will live the Tronox values. The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Qualifications:
19. Degree in electrical, control or instrument engineering
20. Preferably chartered or working towards chartered status.
21. Member of the IET or InstMC
22. Experience of process engineering in a continuous manufacturing process environment; preferably a top tier COMAH Site
23. Demonstrated effective use of and adherence to legislative Process Safety systems and procedures
24. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical Skills and Competencies:
25. Working knowledge of current legislation and statutory requirements most notably BS7671 and Electricity at Work Regulations, but also including Hazardous Area Installations (ATEX / DSEAR), COMAH, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
26. Safe operation of HV networks preferred, but not essential (Senior Authorised Person qualified)
27. Experience of DCS Systems, PLCs, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), variable speed drives, fired appliance gas train systems, LV electrical distribution systems, motor controls and instrumentation systems.
28. Ability to lead or participate in multidiscipline teams.
29. Ability to produce management reports, capital investment proposals and maintenance instructions or training materials.
30. Ability to obtain and analyse a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative data.
31. Experience of HAZOP participation.
32. Ability to train and develop others in maintenance or operations departments
33. Knowledge of a wide variety of industrial I&E systems and equipment gained in a maintenance environment, ideally through experience in more than one organisation. This is a broad-based position that covers the full spectrum of instrument and electrical engineering.
