We are looking for a Curator to work with our amazing social and working history collections, telling the stories of ordinary people’s lives in the capital over the last two hundred years.
This role will suit someone who loves working with collections and is excited by the idea of joining a team working towards an ambitious goal. We’re looking for someone with strong collections management skills who enjoys using objects to reveal history to the public.
You will work with two other established part-time Social & Working History curators to ensure that our extraordinary collections are properly documented, packed, and catalogued in order to achieve our goal of moving the collections by 2027. You will be responsible for answering public enquiries, conducting research on the collections, working with the Comms and Development teams, and producing online content.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with social history or heritage collections, with knowledge of best practices in this area, who can demonstrate knowledge of some aspect of London’s social history from 1700 to the present day.
Academic qualifications are not required; we are looking for someone who has the transferable skills and experience to fit this description.
