Reporting into the Production Manager, this is a newly created role to provide structure and accountability to our operational team as we continue our journey of growth. We’re looking for a talented individual with experience in a manufacturing business – whether you are on a rapid personal growth trajectory at the start of your career, or more seasoned in your field, we’d like to hear from you.
As part of our business restructure, you will be responsible for a number of Team Leaders and the employees within their teams. You will also oversee the control of our product to and from the galvanisers as well as assuming full responsibility for the management of our yard.
Responsibilities
1. To ensure pre-build is aware of and delivers against the required production schedule.
2. To ensure that all despatch requirements are understood and delivered in line with the plan and customer requirements.
3. To ensure the despatch control systems are maintained, developed and effectively used and that progress monitoring tools are fully utilised.
4. To conduct quality audits and assessments to ensure customer supplied product is complete and free from defects.
5. To work closely with other Assistant Production Managers and Team Leaders to identify urgent requirements and drive the timely completion of these.
6. Responsibility for the goods in and despatch yard and despatch areas.
7. To be the primary liaison with galvanisers to control the work out and back into the business.
8. To manage equipment, people and resources in the Post Fab areas to maximise up-time in the most cost-effective manner.
In this key role, our Assistant Production Manager will take responsibility for all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People within the Production area of our factory in the heart of Wolverhampton, specifically:
1. Taking full responsibility for all aspects of safety within the area.
2. Being accountable for the quality performance of the product leaving the area.
3. Delivering the output from the area in line with planned requirements and company targets.
4. Managing cost within the area, including the management of overtime and accountability for the generation of waste.
5. Being the line manager for team leaders and operators and taking responsibility for all elements of personnel issues for their team.
We’re looking for someone with extensive experience of operational leadership in a manufacturing business who can demonstrate your knowledge and experience of delivering against customers’ expectations for quality and delivery. As a strong and resilient leader, you will have good people management and leadership experience to offer the role.
