Remit:
1. As a Shift Leader you will be responsible for taking charge of your shift, ensuring machines run efficiently in line with production schedules while upholding and enhancing high standards in health, safety, quality and environmental practices.
Successful candidates will have 3-5 years' experience in a similar team leader or supervisory position; a recognized qualification in leadership & management would be desirable alongside plastics manufacturing experience being beneficial but not essential.
Role:
1. Ensure the economical execution of production orders e.g. cycle times, scrap rates and machine availability.
2. Ensure all Health & Safety rules and guidelines are adhered to by members of the team.
3. Motivate all team members in order to maintain a high work ethic and production rate.
4. Provide training and coaching to team members as required and identified.
5. Undertake appropriate and necessary action in accordance with the company's disciplinary procedures in the event that misconduct occurs, or a team member's performance becomes unsatisfactory.
6. Ensure that all team members comply with the notified quality procedures and specifications.
7. Provide an accurate daily shift report to the Production Manager.
8. Ensure correct data records are input in the production sheets and highlight/report any discrepancies to the Production Manager.
9. Adhere to all Health & Safety rules and guidelines as notified.
Experience Requirements:
1. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar team-leading or supervisory role
2. A recognised qualification in Leadership and Management would be advantageous
3. Knowledge or experience in a plastics manufacturing environment would be beneficial
4. A conscientious, driven and resilient mindset is essential for managing multiple tasks simultaneously
5. Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
6. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
7. Problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex production issues.
