Maintenance Engineer
Location: Ramsgate

Roles & Responsibilities
1. Carry out site repairs and modifications on mechanical plant equipment.
2. Mechanical tasks include:
1. Mechanical fault finding on pumps, gearboxes, lathes, grinding machines, boring machines.
2. Machine strip downs and rebuilds.
3. Planned and preventive maintenance.
4. Mechanical installation including pipe fitting and machine moves.
3. Electrical tasks include:
1. Planned and preventive maintenance.
2. Programming temperature PID controllers.
3. Perform safe isolation and lockout of equipment.
4. Create risk assessment/method statements prior to commencing work activities.
5. Accurately record and document maintenance activities using the maintenance system.
6. Escalate any faults including estimated time of recovery and provide regular progress updates to the facilities manager.
7. Perform out of hours working to support critical maintenance, breakdowns, and project work as required.
8. Participate in the creation of standard working documents, local instructions, etc.
9. Work with sub-contractors to assist with maintenance, repairs, and modifications to plant and equipment.
10. Assist with the control, ordering, and replenishment of spare parts and components.
Previous Experience
1. Minimum 3-5 years of proven relevant experience working within a maintenance or repairs engineer role.
2. Mechanical experience of maintaining plant equipment.
3. Experience undertaking general fabrication work (mechanical and electrical).
4. Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical technical drawings.
5. Proven ability to fault find on electrical and mechanical systems.
Qualifications and Competences
1. Engineering HNC/HND qualification or equivalent (essential).
2. Excellent analytical, fault finding, and problem-solving skills.
3. Strong organizational and planning abilities.
4. Innovative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
5. Cost conscious and able to work to budget.
Details / Benefits
1. Monday – Thursday: 8am – 4pm
2. Friday: 8am – 3.30pm
3. Salary: Dependent on experience
4. Overtime: Available at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sunday
