System Support & Configuration engineer (Insurance Solutions) General Summary: Want to work on a new category for Sky? As Sky evolves towards its ambition of being at the centre of a connected home, in confidence, we have launched a new Sky Protect proposition in 2022/23 which leverages smart home technology to give customers extra assurance that their homes are connected and protected. This is an exciting opportunity to work in what is effectively a new vertical within Sky. We have a team of c.85 people on the ground already, many of whom are new to Sky, and we’re looking for a technically capable and self-starting Support Engineer. The role will suit a self-starter who can manage multiple requests & conflicting priorities which could involve co-ordination across multiple teams and external suppliers. You will be working within the Insurance Tech and Delivery team on a hybrid basis, generally based in Sky Central 2/3 x days per week (location can be discussed). What you’ll do You will become an expert in the technical details of our Insurance Policy Administration System (PAS) configuration so that you can advise on the ‘art of the possible’ across product configuration and documentation management. As part of a small technical team, you will provide support on PAS production issues and ensure they are managed through to resolution, over time this will include other interconnected 3rd party supplied systems. Both parts of this role sit at the heart of our PAS insurance solution and is critical to making product changes, operational improvements and resolving issues quickly. Managing and refining the configuration of existing Insurance products Working with colleagues to help define and deploy the configuration of new products Develop and maintain configuration policies, procedures and documentation to support shared knowledge and adoption of our platform Create configuration guidance and conduct impact analysis on in-flight products, to support the most sensible approach to configuration and change Manage PAS configuration deployments across multiple environments. Working closely with operational, marketing and UW teams for the Implementation, configuration and deployment all customer documentation/transcomms Managing ‘Support’ tickets across the PAS internally and with the 3rd party provider Manage and prioritise ongoing open Issues/incidents for the Protect insurance business. What you’ll bring Experience of Insurance policy administration solutions and how they work – Ideally in a role where you were responsible for making configuration changes or defining workflows. (Experience of an insurance platform called ICE would be advantageous) Excellent knowledge of Insurance product and process, particularly Home Insurance. Including sales, renewals, MTAs, endorsements, claims, payments/refunds and cancellations. Technically minded, with an understanding of how difference systems communicate. – Perhaps operating previously as a BA in the insurance sector. Awareness and appreciation of the impact changes have to upstream/downstream systems. Sound understanding of payment process including card processing and direct debit. Sound understanding data protection. Understanding of software engineering principles and practices covering areas such as automation, testing, pipelines, containerisation, and cloud technologies Appreciation of automated software testing.
