JOB TITLE – Mechanical Technician LOCATION – Aldermaston DEPARTMENT – Site Technicians TYPE – Perm HOURS - 9-Day Fortnight SECURITY CLEARANCE - SC or DV Working for NSG NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG’s own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles. The Role To competently perform plant operations, installations, handling, assembly, dismantling and other activities on equipment or within the site environment, and as instructed by Site Supervisor; within AWE facilities as part of the HVAC possession period. Complete and maintain as necessary all associated records and documentation Qualifications and Skills Advanced apprenticeship / NVQ Level 4 or BTEC CSCS card for relevant trade Manufacture and fitting of mechanical parts & assemblies Familiar with site / factory work environments Work experience within engineering, science or construction environment Able to organise and prioritise own work Able to read and write messages, interpret and carry out instructions Personal Attributes Flexible Team player Committed to and understanding of NSG’s Vision, Mission and Values Have due regard to equal opportunities and diversity at all times, and to work in a fair and reasonable manner towards all stakeholders Maintain simple records and documents in a readable format Understands and can work to mechanical engineering drawings Not applicable to staff
