Job Title: Community Mental Health Nurse for Older People

Main duties of the job
* To discharge professional responsibilities under the Mental Health Act (1983) and the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and the NMC Professional Code of Conduct at all times and be a positive role model.
* Support Primary Care in the management of people presenting with mental health problems by offering assessment, nurse diagnosis, and treatment options, and liaise with Primary Care professionals through regular informal and formal meetings.
* Deliver a high-quality community nursing service to Older People with mental health problems, in a multi-professional framework and the ability to lone work adhering to local and Trust policies.
* Prescribe services that meet the user/carer needs, in conjunction with others. Attend and prepare reports for MDT meetings and participate in the Teams DUTY Rota system.

Job responsibilities
Trust: Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Location: West Park - The Meadows
Pay Rates: Day £22.89 per hour; Sat/Nights £29.42 per hour; Sun/Bank Hols £35.96 per hour
Contract length: Ongoing full time
Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 9-5
What you'll need as qualification/experience:
Qualifications required
* Successful completion of Mentorship course OR equivalent
Experience required
* One-year post-registration experience either as RMN, Occupational therapist, or social worker OR
* Previous experience of working in the Community for a minimum of one year
* *RMN registered with the NMC

Qualifications
* All Registered Nurse roles will be required to provide evidence of:
* Statement of NMC Registration
* Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Experience
* A minimum of 6 months paid experience as Community Mental Health Nurse for Older People within the last 3 years.
