Hook-Up Manager - HVAC Substation Location: Kingston Contract Type: AGENCY (Outside IR35) Company: Leading Engineering and Construction Firm About the Company A leading technological and engineering company specializing in the design, construction, and operation of safe and sustainable complex infrastructure and plants is seeking an experienced Hook-Up Manager to support a large bid/study starting soon. Role Overview The Hook-Up Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing hook-up activities for OSS projects, ensuring compliance with client and contractual requirements while maintaining budget, schedule, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards. Key Responsibilities Mission: Develop execution plans for Hook-Up activities at the tender phase, including estimating resource and equipment requirements, logistics planning, and work processes. Assess and express Hook-Up needs during the Engineering & Procurement (E&P) phases, balancing time, cost, and feasibility. Coordinate and manage the Hook-Up phase, ensuring alignment with contractual and HSE/Quality procedures. Oversee offshore construction completion, ensuring a seamless handover to the commissioning team and achieving company final acceptance. Tasks: Provide realistic estimates of hook-up activity durations and equipment requirements to support bid success. Assist the Project Management Team in defining Hook-Up budgets in line with execution plans. Support Project Control in schedule development, staffing plans, and cost control reporting. Act as the company’s representative with Clients, Partners, and Subcontractors, managing contractual matters related to Hook-Up. Define and manage the Hook-Up Project Execution Plan, coordinating with Fabrication, Transport & Installation (T&I), and Commissioning teams. Ensure Engineering teams incorporate Hook-Up requirements into deliverables, including material tagging and codification. Participate in or delegate participation in engineering reviews (HAZID, Constructability, 3D model reviews, etc.). Develop and implement resource mobilization plans in collaboration with HR. Ensure timely development of Subcontract specifications and Technical Bid Evaluations in line with execution strategy. Oversee the preparation of Hook-Up document lists, procedures, and specifications. Ensure quality control in Welding, Painting & Coating, addressing special requirements in advance of offshore campaigns. Collaborate with Fabrication teams to conduct carry-over analyses and minimize project disruptions. Implement methodologies for risk management, knowledge sharing, and adherence to industry standards. Support contract variation assessments in collaboration with project management. Lead and coordinate Hook-Up Offshore Teams for smooth execution. Ensure planning and control of Hook-Up activities through dedicated systems. Guarantee timely progress reporting from the Hook-Up team. Oversee HSE and Quality procedures, ensuring proper implementation in Hook-Up operations. Work with the Yard Project Manager to define and enforce material management procedures. Contribute to lessons learned documentation, monitoring Hook-Up performance and identifying improvement areas. Candidate Profile Experience: Proven track record in offshore Hook-Up Management within complex infrastructure or energy sector projects. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Fabrication, Transport & Installation (T&I), Commissioning, Quality Control, and offshore construction activities. Leadership & Coordination: Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and work collaboratively with Clients, Subcontractors, and Project Teams. HSE & Quality Compliance: Deep knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality regulations. Planning & Budgeting: Expertise in cost control, scheduling, and execution planning.
