Pentrehafod School is a thriving community-focused school that has served a wide area of Swansea East since 1976. There are 1131 students on roll and we are proud to house a Specialist Teaching Facility (STF) providing support to students with speech and language needs; these young people are fully integrated into the daily life of the school. We are an inclusive school providing a wide range of opportunities, both within and beyond the curriculum, in a caring and supportive environment. Achievement of all kinds is valued and celebrated.
Due to the resignation of our highly respected and successful Headteacher, the Governors of Pentrehafod School wish to appoint a dynamic and inspirational leader who will continue to raise aspirations and ensure consistently outstanding learning opportunities and experiences for all students.
This role is an exciting opportunity for a new leader to build on our current success, develop a fresh perspective on whole-school improvement, and implement changes to enhance our student and staff experiences.
We are committed to developing as a learning organisation and take pride in being a strong community school. Pentrehafod School Governors are highly ambitious for their staff and students.
We are looking for a committed professional who can demonstrate evidence of improving performance and raising standards for every member of the school community. We wish to appoint an exceptional Headteacher, with excellent leadership skills and high aspirations for our students, staff and parents, who will continue to maintain the ethos and character of our popular school. We are seeking to appoint a leader with wide-ranging school leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader, fully committed to the academic success, care and welfare of all our students and staff. The successful candidate must be able to articulate a vision of teaching and learning, and health and wellbeing that meets the needs of our diverse community.
Pentrehafod School has benefited from a complete refurbishment, providing a 21st Century School for its students and the wider community with state of the art learning facilities, providing a positive learning environment for everyone. There are excellent sporting and teaching environments and the whole community has benefitted from this investment.
The school was inspected in December 2019 and received Good and Excellent judgements. There is a continuous drive on Teaching and Learning and the staff CPD offer is exceptional. Governors aim to support the successful candidate in all aspects of school life, thereby creating a practice of effective learning and development throughout the school and its community.
