Since 2021 we have been busy growing our first-class direct cremation service which offers individuals and families all over the country a simple alternative to a traditional funeral service.

The role
Working closely with the Managing Director, this newly created role will play a pivotal part in the transformation of Distinct into an insight-led marketing business.
We already have lots of data, however, need your expertise to be able to pull everything together to tell the overall story and provide the insight and trends so we can be proactive in our approach, clearly understand areas of friction and enhance commercial performance.
There's lots of scope to make this role your own, build dashboards from scratch and really lead the way in helping us make data-led decision making from your insight.
This Rewarding Opportunity Involves
1. Proactively build and maintain the data flows and reporting across the business (and externally), work with key stakeholders to track and measure business performance through usable MI, highlighting potential problems and recommending potential solutions.
2. Work with the marketing team to optimise targeting, channel mix and budgets to deliver budgeted volume with an improving cost per acquisition.
3. Critical analysis of marketing and sales performance and improvements in the efficiency of return on investment.
4. Establishing an end-to-end view of the customer funnel, from paid media to website performance and conversion to sale. Highlighting areas of friction and specific points in the journey that present the opportunity for improved commercial performance.
5. Identification of key data requirements across the marketing and sales team and develop and implement a plan to make it available. This includes establishing where gaps exist in reporting and data flows and recommending solutions to improve.
6. Integrating data from multiple sources to create a unified view of performance vs the various KPIs. Provide regular reporting and management information to support decision making and track business performance on key performance indicators (KPIs) across the marketing funnel.
7. Lead the process of creating a customer segmentation and propensity model, including the use of 1st and 3rd party data to inform targeting across everything from BVOD, Social, PPC, CRM and DM.
8. Effectively communicate your recommendations for change to key stakeholders, to demonstrate how value can be added or improved if changes are adopted.
9. Lead or support with projects to implement changes to systems and processes that improve the integration of data into marketing decision making.
10. Assist the Marketing team with key analysis on campaign performance, assessing commercial opportunities and calculating return on marketing investment.
11. Collaborate with the IT team to develop automation of reporting and resolve technical issues identified problems efficiency.
12. Adopt and promote a continuous improvement approach by working with the teams to carry out regular reviews of systems and processes to identify opportunities for further improvements.
About You
1. Experience as a Marketing Data Analyst with a history of working in a D-2-C business with paid-for media acquisition channels is essential.
2. Strong commercial awareness and understanding.
3. Highly numerate and confident working with large amounts of complex data and experienced in statistical analysis techniques.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills able to explain complex information in a simple, easy to understand way.
5. Able to spot trends and insights from data to tell the overall story.
6. Proactive problem solver, with a critical eye for detail.
7. Skills in the use of analytical tools and systems including Power BI; Hotjar; GA4; Excel; power query; DAX; SQL.
8. Experience and knowledge of the funeral sector an advantage but not essential.
